The Adviser Centre team have known each other and worked together for many years.

Peter Toogood - Chief Investment Officer

Peter began his career at Holden Meehan, an independent wealth manager, in 1989. He joined Forsyth Partners in 1994 as a senior mutual fund analyst and was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2000. He was responsible for the management of traditional and alternative multi-asset funds, with assets at their peak in excess of £1.5 billion. He was co-founder of the original Forsyth-OBSR Ratings Service in 2002. He joined OBSR (later Morningstar OBSR) in 2008 and was responsible for establishing the firm’s fund advisory business, as well as continuing in a leadership role within the fund research team. As Investment Director, he worked closely with Head of Investment Consultancy, Gill Hutchison, and they were responsible for the delivery of services to an array of different clients and were important influencers of fund flows in the UK. In 2014, inspired by their advisory and consultancy work, they founded The Adviser Centre, seeking to provide a fund and investment research service equipped to power advisers’ investment propositions. The service is now part of the Embark Group, for which Peter is also the Chief Investment Officer.

Gill Hutchison - Research Director

Gill began her career in 1992 at Credit Suisse Private Banking, working in the portfolio management team and specialising in fixed income and then the management of a portfolio of funds program. She worked at OBSR / Morningstar OBSR for 10 years, was a key member of the team that undertook fund research for the Forsyth-OBSR / Morningstar OBSR Fund Ratings Service and was instrumental in establishing OBSR’s consultancy services. As Head of Investment Consultancy, she worked closely with Investment Director Peter Toogood, and they were responsible for the delivery of services to an array of different clients and were important influencers of fund flows in the UK. In 2014, inspired by their advisory and consultancy work, they founded The Adviser Centre, seeking to provide a fund and investment research service equipped to power advisers’ investment propositions. The service has been part of the Embark Group since 2016.

Marianne Weller - Senior Analyst

Marianne joined The Adviser Centre in 2014 as a Senior Investment Analyst, transferring to Embark in October 2016, following the group’s acquisition of the service. She previously worked for Morningstar OBSR, where she was an Investment Research Analyst covering a number of sectors, including fixed income, managed and multi-asset funds and specialist sector funds, and played a role in the group’s consulting business. She began working in the investment industry in 2001. She holds a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Greenwich, the Investment Management Certificate, has passed the Chartered Institute for Securities Investments (CISI) level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice and, in addition, is a member of the CISI.

Karen Roff - Senior Associate

Karen joined The Adviser Centre at its launch in 2014, transferring to Embark in October 2016 following the group’s acquisition of the service. She previously worked for Morningstar OBSR, responsible for the administration of client reporting and model portfolios. Following many years in administrative roles, she began working in the investment industry in 2005 for Forsyth Partners, moving to OBSR in 2008.

Miroslava Cummins - Associate

Mirka joined the Embark Group in October 2016 as a Research Associate. She previously worked at Fidelity Investments International as a Sales Associate, responsible for the daily management and processing of client queries, organising internal and external fund manager meetings and client events. After a few years in administrative roles, she began working in the investment industry for Forsyth Partners in 2002 as a Research Associate, where she provided administrative support to the Investment & Research team.
